Community Stories
Thanks to a generous donation from [Outreach, Love & Aid], Davidson Library is proud to offer a children's sensory play area designed to welcome and support young patrons of every ability and sensory need...
This gift from [Outreach, Love & Aid] reflects a shared belief that libraries should be spaces of genuine inclusion — where every child, regardless of how they experience the world, can find a place to learn, play, and belong. On behalf of our young patrons and their families, we are deeply grateful for this investment in accessible early childhood development and community connection.
— Marie Harris, Branch Manager at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library's Davidson Branch
The Town of Davidson is grateful for the partnership and generosity of OLA (formerly Students Offering Smiles) in helping bring the Davidson Traffic Garden to life. Their support helped create an engaging community resource where children can learn important bicycle and pedestrian safety skills through hands-on education and play. This project highlights the lasting impact that local collaboration can have on youth and families, and we appreciate OLA's commitment to strengthening both the Davidson community and local elementary school.

Partnering with OLA (formerly Students Offering Smiles) brings pure joy and vital opportunities to our members at Senior Community Connections. Thanks to support from the Davidson Turkey Trot, we were thrilled to host our first-ever SCC Theatre and Fine Arts Program this September, bringing our seniors together for an unforgettable evening at the Cain Center for the Arts. OLA’s dedication to providing support to allow for enriching experiences in our community embodies Outreach, Love, and Aid in the truest sense. They don't just support an organization; they spark connections, build community, and ensure our seniors stay active and engaged."
